Post Maloneとは？
Post Maloneは本名Austin Richard Postと言い、アメリカ ニューヨーク出身の23歳ラッパーだ。Maloneはプロバスケ選手の名から取っている。
本格的な活動は2013年から始め、2015年にYouTubeにアップされた「White Iverson」が急激に全世界で再生され、一躍有名になった。そして2017年にリリースした「rockstar ft.21 Savage」では全米で8週連続1位、さらに2018年にリリースしたアルバム「beerbongs & bentleys」でも全米1位を獲得して破竹の勢いでのし上がってきた。また最近では映画「スパイダーマン : バース」の主題歌のである「Sunflower feat.Swae Lee 」をリリースし、YouTubeでの再生回数はすでに3.6億回を超えている。そして昨年クリスマスイブに最新作シングル「Wow.」をリリースしている。
Post Maloneの苦悩
Post Maloneはここ数年で急激に伸びたアーティストの一人であるのは間違いないだろう。しかし、伸び方が激しいがために苦悩も多く見受けられる。2016年にアルバム「STONEY」に収録されていて現在Youtubeでの再生回数が2.9億回にもなっている「Go Flex」では歌詞に「I don`t even know what I`m chasin` no more」(自分が何を追っかけているのかすら分からない）や、「tell what I want, just keep searchin' on」（俺は何が欲しいのか教えてくれ、ただ探しているだけなんだ。）、「It's never enough, cup after cup」（満たされないままカップが次から次へと）などと苦しみが表されている。

Martin Garrix 新曲 「No Sleep」リリース🔥
2月21日Martin Garrixが『No Sleep feat . Bonn』をリリースした。フューチャリング曲としてはMike Yungとの『 Dreamer 』から3ヶ月ぶりとなる。
この曲は一つ前のフューチャリング曲である「Dreamer」よりも6ヶ月前にリリースされ現在YouTubeで1億回再生されている「High On Life」と似ている。Bonnの耳にすっと入ってくるようなボイスからMartinの綺麗めのサウンド、そして強弱のあるテンポでまとめられていてとても聞きやすい。歌詞では「夢を見ているから眠る必要なんかない」というようにラブソングとはまた違ったものとなっていてMVも人生を楽しむというテーマを感じさせる。

「 Who Do You Love 」をリリースした。2019年になって初のリリースとなる。そしてなんと今曲のフューチャリングはあの大人気バンド 5 Seconds of Summer だ。

今年初の新曲が5 Seconds of Summerとの豪華コラボとなったが、告知されていたのはリリース四日前とかなり際どいものとなった。曲はお互いの良さがうまくマッチしていて、5SOSは最近のバラード路線ではなく、「She Looks So Perfect 」など入ったアルバム「5 Seconds of Summer 」のような力強いボイスとThe Chainsmokersの前作「HOPE 」のような、エフェクトを多用して出来るオシャレなメロディが組み合わさっている。そして女々しさ、哀愁をどこか滲ませる歌詞にも注目だ。YouTubeのコメント欄でも「 obsessed!! 」(心を奪われた！) や 「 Masterpiece!! 」(傑作だ！)と早速賛美の声で溢れている。
「Who Do You Love」は、聞けば5秒で恋をしてしまう、そんな曲となっている。2019年も、５SOS、The Chainsmokers共にファンとして神曲が生まれていくの見守っていきたい。

おすすめの洋楽シリーズ第4弾となる今回オススメの曲は
Breathe Carolina & Streex の「 Up All Night 」

この曲は2017年の12月にリリースされた。アーティストは「 Echo 」等の曲に表れているようなシンセサイザーの音にエフェクトを載せることを得意とし、バンド→DJという経歴をもつBreathe Carolinaと、2016年から活動開始し代表曲は「Alive 」、イタリア出身の新進気鋭のDJデュオ Streexによって作られた。Streexはあまり日本では知られていないが、あのThe Chainsmokersの「Closer」のカバーや、先程あげた「Alive」等で海外では注目なアーティストとなっていて、非常にオススメできる。(下に他のオススメ曲の試聴を貼ってあります。)
この曲はどちらもシンセサイザーを得意とするDJのコラボであり、やはりサビのサウンドに注目だ。粗めのドロップにトラップを重ねることで絶妙に安定しつつ、得意のエフェクトを多く盛り込んでおり遊び心あるメロディとなっている。またEDMの曲に多く見られる、サビ後に急に落ち着いたメロディにして2番の歌詞に続けていく「抜け」が控えめであり、曲調に強弱があまりないため、激しめの曲なのかと一見思ってしまうが聞きやすい曲となっている。あまり激しく過ぎる曲が好きではないが、気分を上げていきたい人におすすめだ。

Daniel Seaveyのテンポの良い歌い出しにZach Herronが続いてJack Averyが合わさり2人のコーラスになる所は見逃せない。EDM調でない分、メンバーの声が響き渡りやすい。歌詞では、『愛する人のためにBig Plansを立てた』や『俺に賭けてくれ』という愛情表現など、直球的に愛をぶつけてくる、そんな内容になっている。去年にはサマーソニックで来日出演し、SNSを中心に熱狂的なファン達を増やし魅了し続けてきた甘いマスクと声に2019年も期待していきたい。

この曲は2015年5月にリリースされたアルバムである「 True Colors 」に収録されていて、フィーチャリングはカリフォルニアに拠点を置く4人組バンドのEchosmithとなっている。
オススメしたい理由は「 落ち着ける 」所にある。この曲を出すまでの絶対は「Find You」や「Done With Love」などのFuture Houseを中心として激しい曲が多かった。しかしこの曲では美しいイントロから始まり、EchosmithのボーカルのSydneyの透明感のあり、かつ伸びやかな声にピアノの音が添えられている。そしてサビには、音の粒が繊細に組み立てられたようなエレクトロサウンドが次第にリズミカルになっていく、そんな美しい曲だ。作業用BGMとしても、かかっていれば目の前のことに集中出来ておすすめだろう。そして、まやかしの恋愛はいらない。幻想を抜けて本物の愛を求めようとする、そんな歌詞となっている。上手く比喩の聞いた歌詞となっているのでそこにも注目したい。曲時間が7分弱と少し長いが飽きることもなく聞くことができるだろう。

このアルバムは2017年11月17日にリリースされたSia初のクリスマスアルバムで、凄いのはSiaとはボーカルであるだけでなく、ソングライターでもあるため、全て歌詞も書き下ろしとなっている。(過去にKaty PerryやCamila Cabello等と共作している。)このアルバムのオープニングを飾るのはポップな「Santa's Coming For Us」となっていて、「サンタがやってくる！」というわかりやすい始まりだ。しかしそのポップな曲とは違った「Snowman」などのバラード曲も含まれている。クリスマスならではの楽しくなるようなキャッチーな曲とSiaの圧倒的な歌唱力にしみじみと感傷に浸ることのできるバラード。それらがひとつにまとめあげられたアルバムはクリスマス定番となるはずだ。
